A WellHouse Graduate Update: Hazel
Name has been changed to protect the survivor.
“You all make a difference. Never forget that,” said WellHouse Graduate Hazel. Hazel left The WellHouse over three years ago, and she is doing extraordinarily well. Since graduating, she has traveled the country, obtained a bank account, saved for a vehicle, and improved her credit score by over 150 points! She expressed to our staff recently that she’s never been more stable in her entire life.
“You all make a difference. Never forget that.”
Hazel says her relationships are healthy now because she’s realized that she doesn’t have to let people take advantage of her vulnerabilities, and she can put healthy boundaries in place. It shows true courage to stand up to people meaning to do you harm, and even more to let them go. Hazel has become close to her parents and family. Her parents have said how proud they are of her, and how much the time of “being still” at the WellHouse has deeply changed her.
“It is a serious thing to just be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world.”
Now, instead of surviving, Hazel is living. She proclaims God’s goodness over her life, and she’s embraced the freedom He offers. “It is a serious thing to just be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world,” said Hazel. What powerful wisdom from a powerful woman! Take a moment to pray for Hazel today, and leave her an encouraging comment on this post.
