Rescue Update - Winter 2019
From September 2019 - November 2019, The WellHouse has rescued 11 more women from human trafficking, and one child. Three of the women were rescued from downtown Birmingham, Alabama, on 1st Avenue. One woman was rescued from Hoover, Alabama, and is from Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Two of the rescues were from outside of the United States: one from Estonia and one from Canada, who were both trafficked here in the U.S. The others were from Southeastern United States.
The woman from Estonia was trafficked by her mom, and she was moved and trafficked in Colorado. The woman trafficked in Memphis was trying to get away from her trafficker, when the driver of an 18-wheeler raped, drugged and kidnapped her, and took her to Texas, where she was rescued by The WellHouse.
As we begin facilitating rescues for child trafficking victims, please be in prayer over our staff for their safety, and prayer over these victims for their healing.
