Difference Makers: Spring 2024

2024 has been off to a great start, and much of that is credited to our wonderful volunteers! Over the past few months, 20 people have joined our Volunteer Team, and several of those individuals have jumped right in! New or old, we are so grateful for the many hands and feet of Jesus that support this mission through serving. 

Our volunteer-led classes at WellHouse Child are so helpful! Our girls are learning an array of skills in the kitchen through their “Culinary Arts” class - planning meals, following recipes, using kitchen equipment properly, and cleaning up after themselves. We have also added a regular art class to the schedule. Their teacher incorporates biblical lessons into every art class, so they aren’t just learning about creativity; they are learning about their Creator. Soon, we will add a poetry/writing class to their schedule, as well as a bible journaling class. God is opening doors for our girls to learn and grow so much!

Additionally, we have had many groups come out to campus over the past few months to help us mark tasks off of the ongoing “to-do” list. We are grateful to each of you that have helped with attic organizing, painting, deep cleaning, staining, moving furniture, landscaping and clothes closet sorting. Every project has helped tremendously!

If I was to include everything our volunteers help with in this article, it would go on forever. That is a testament to just how blessed we are by you. Whether you have done administrative work, worked directly with residents, or helped with a facilities project, we are so thankful for you. May God bless you for doing so!
