The Spirit of Zipporah
One of my favorite women in scripture is Zipporah, the wife of Moses.
In one courageous act, Zipporah drew herself, her son, and her husband back under the protection of God. She stepped outside of her comfort zone and her position as a woman to regain alignment with the Father. That had to be terrifying! Zipporah understood the power of God. She realized that the choice to surrender any fear, frustration, or anxiety and circumcise her son would not only save him, but realign Moses under God so that he could operate in His divine purpose.
Each woman that chooses to walk out her destiny has a Zipporah spirit. Working on staff at The WellHouse, we get a front row seat to watch each survivor transform as she relinquishes fear for courage, anxiety for serenity, and frustration for satisfaction - regardless of how hard the journey might be. As each woman surrenders and casts off every hindrance (Hebrews 12:1), they are able to to press on towards the high mark to which they have been called (Philippians 3:14).
I have been walking with women exploited by sex trafficking in street outreach for the past four years; however, doing life with the women at The WellHouse over the past year has been a privilege and an honor. As a Home Coordinator, I have learned so much from them about what it means to surrender and acknowledge the power at work within you.
As each woman chooses the divine over the natural, they fall into realignment with the power of God so that they can operate in their divine purpose. It is an incredible blessing to watch God move in real time. Regardless of of how difficult the journey can be, each woman leaves The WellHouse program knowing that she is seen, loved, and more whole in Christ than she ever realized.
