Letter from the CEO: Momentous Moments

Last quarter I reported on five major projects currently in process at The WellHouse. I want to share exciting, momentous updates on three of these projects!

ShopWell

ShopWell has indeed expanded! We have a new ShopWell Supervisor, Erin Burrell. Erin’s heart for God, The WellHouse ministry and our ladies is refreshing and a reminder to us all of why we love this ministry.  Erin has already secured three new wholesale partners and ShopWell sales are ahead of last year’s at this time. Watching her interact with her staff, our resident ShopWell Apprentices, is a joy!

WellHouse Child

The WellHouse Child is complete and as we await additional furnishings, every requirement has been met and delivered to Montgomery (thank you Debby) for our license! We are grateful to DHR for working alongside us and for explaining the process to include that every agency who seeks a license to operate a home for children must receive a Basic Childcare License allowing them to operate. There is no distinction in the type of license offered. We will, of course, be providing the highest level of therapeutic care to these youth, and we are very excited about the new therapist we have hired along with all the other new hires. Among them is a recent retiree from Homeland Security who will be providing support for WellHouse Child, security for our campus overall, and assisting our Rescue Supervisor in expanding our efforts in this area. By the time you receive the last newsletter of 2021, I am sure you will be hearing of youth who have entered WellHouse Child receiving the highest level of therapeutic care, education, and love that can be provided.

The Chapel

The Chapel!! It is FINISHED and our staff, residents, and guests have already enjoyed worship and other activities in this amazing place. I have heard from residents that they go into the chapel for solitude and meditation, and what an amazing restorative time this is for them.

Please rejoice with us at God’s goodness and pray for us as we continue to seek and provide the highest level of care to some of the most vulnerable! I leave you with a verse that embodies what we desire to do: Psalm 82:4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
