JAMIE JOHNSON
What is your job title and what year did you come on staff at The WellHouse?
I am the ShopWell Director, and I came on staff in 2022.
What is your favorite part about your job?
The best part of my job is being able to build relationships with the ShopWell apprentices and design new pieces for the ShopWell line.
Tell us about your educational and professional experience that equips you to be successful in this field.
I am the founder and former Director of Prodigal Pottery, which is also a work therapy program for women coming out of domestic abuse and homelessness.
Please share your favorite memory from your time working at The WellHouse.
One of our recent Chapel services was very special watching the women react to the speaker and being able to pray over them after the service. The spirit was moving in mighty ways that morning.
Tell us about your journey coming into the anti-trafficking field and with The WellHouse.
At Prodigal Pottery, I employed several residents from The WellHouse, so I already had a relationship and foundation built with The WellHouse before coming on board here. I am still learning about the world of anti-trafficking, but am really grateful for the intentional ways that The WellHouse trains their staff to understand trafficking and how best to love and serve the survivors in our programs.
How has working at The WellHouse impacted your life?
I have already been deeply impacted by how the Holy Spirit works in and through this place. The women are loved and cared for in so many different areas. I have been so impressed by the work being done here and I am so grateful to have a small part in getting to work alongside the amazing survivors at The WellHouse.
