What is your job title and what year did you come on staff at The WellHouse?
I serve as the Chief Operations Officer and I came to The WellHouse in 2019.
What is your favorite part about your job?
In Development specifically, I love being in a position that gets to witness so many community members, churches, foundations, and corporations give with cheerful hearts to a worthy and important cause. It is a huge blessing to me to see such generosity every day!
Tell us about your educational and professional experience that equips you to be successful in this field.
My undergraduate degree is International Business and I have a Masters in Secondary Mathematics Education. My 10 year career in education as a high school teacher and then administrator before working at The WellHouse was interestingly great training ground for this role at The WellHouse. I will always have a heart for youth and education; however, I am so grateful the Lord brought me to work with women and girls who have been trafficked, as this is now my new mission!
Please share your favorite memory from your time working at The WellHouse.
My favorite memory is my first WellHouse Graduation, where I watched women thank God for changing their lives. Graduation is still my favorite event, as each time we get to praise God for His love, might, power, and strength, and give thanks for the tremendous soul change and hard work of each resident. My other favorite memory is finishing She Is Safe. I'll never be able to clearly articulate what that piece of work means to me.
How has working at The WellHouse impacted your life?
The WellHouse is a place near to Jesus, and that is how I feel here. It has forever impacted my life to do Kingdom work, work for the brokenhearted and see them heal, and work alongside amazing, Spirit-filled women and men in this fight.
