What is your job title and what year did you come on staff at The WellHouse?
I serve as a Home Coordinator for WellHouse Woman, and I started in 2025.
What is your favorite part about your job?
I would have to say getting to pour into the lives of these beautiful women every day. We laugh together, cry together, and get to learn more about Jesus and His amazing love together. As Home Coordinators, we get to spend a lot of quality time with the women. It is such a blessing to get to have God-led conversations with them, pray for and with them, and my absolute favorite- when the light in their eyes starts to shine again or for the first time! We get a front row seat to watch the love of Jesus transform their lives, renew their minds, begin to learn how beautiful they are to Jesus, and that they are in fact fearfully and wonderfully made. It's literally the BEST job in the world!
Tell us about your educational and professional experience that equips you to be successful in this field.
I worked as a Case Manager for a faith-based Recovery program in Birmingham, AL for 15 years, (500 women and 150 children) so my heart is centered in helping women find hope and freedom at the foot of the cross. Teaching them that they are precious and helping them realize their worth in Jesus. I believe my previous job prepared me for this amazing journey to The WellHouse and equipped me to be who God has called me to be for leadership and ministry. There is nothing more exciting than working for His Kingdom and walking in His purpose for our lives.
Tell us about your journey coming into the anti-trafficking field and with The WellHouse.
In 2007, I found myself at a crossroads in life, sick and tired of being sick and tired but not knowing really what to do about it. I found myself seeking a place to be able to change my life. God led me to that same faith-based program that I would later work at for 15 years; He radically changed my life in a way that I never expected. In December 2024, I celebrated 17 years of sobriety and living for Jesus. My life has never been the same in the best way! I was honored to work at the same program to help others find their way out of that same darkness. During my time as a Case Manager, I began to hear story after story from the women that had been trafficked, and the things they had been through completely broke my heart. The stark realization that it doesn't just happen in third world countries, that it happens right here in our country was mind blowing.
How has working at The WellHouse impacted your life?
It has reminded me and shown me in a tangible way Romans 8:28 - "And we know that all things work together for good for those that love God, who are called according to His purpose." These women are so amazing, so kind, so sweet, it is truly an honor and a great blessing to get to work with them every day. My life is better just by getting to be there and interact with them, they touch my heart in so many ways. In recovery there is a saying, "You have to give it away to keep it". Each day I strive to show them what He looks like, encourage them, and point them to Jesus. They bring me such joy and excitement. There really is nothing like it!
