Difference Makers: Summer 2023

Twenty-five women and eight children are currently being served on The WellHouse campus, and we know it takes a village to treat their trauma in a holistic way. Our volunteers step into gaps daily and we couldn’t be more grateful for their support.

Two new volunteer-led classes have begun on campus! Our new Bible journaling class has been a wonderful way for residents to experience the living and active Word of God using their creativity. In addition, we have added trauma-informed yoga to programming which is being led by another wonderful volunteer. Survivors often have a difficult time feeling at home in their bodies, and we believe this will be another way for them to engage in their own healing process.

We would like to thank the Les Dames and Mountain Brook Community Church for generously donating casseroles throughout the summer for our residents. Food goes quickly around here and these casseroles will be such a blessing!

One of our current goals is to host groups of prayer warriors on our property at least once a month for a prayer walk around campus or for a time of prayer in the Chapel. We believe this covering of prayer will encourage our staff who work so hard to bring healing to our residents and will bring hope to the residents currently on campus.

We already have twelve groups signed up between the months of June and July that will be participating in serve days, gift basket deliveries, and bringing meals to residents as well as providing different activities for them to enjoy.

We could not do our work without each and everyone of you, thank you so much!
