Their Stories
Sarah’s story.
“On July 6, 2011, I found myself once again living in motels, addicted to crack cocaine, and doing whatever I had to do for drugs. I was at a point in my life where I knew there “had to be more.” God did not place me here to treat myself in such a degrading way. I have been to several treatment centers because my family or the courts sent me, and nothing worked. God kept tugging at my heart and showed me the WellHouse. I called. They came, and that is all it took. My life has been completely transformed. I am grateful the WellHouse is here because it is the “right place for me.” Today, I have a purpose: God is in control of my life. I am rebuilding relationships with my family and children. The most important relationship I am building is with God. Thank you to the WellHouse for giving me a way out.”
Elizabeth’s story.
“On June 18, 2011, I called the WellHouse. I was living in a motel, using drugs, and selling my body. Two days prior to the call, I turned 30. I knew it was time to change my life. When the WellHouse rescued me they gave me a place to call home. If they had not come, I would probably be dead or in jail. The WellHouse introduced me to Jesus, and my life is changed. I now regularly attend church, have a full-time job, a bank account, and am a member of a small group attempting to better myself. I seek the fellowship and guidance of other Christian women. God has moved leaps and bounds in my life. Thank you to God and to the WellHouse.”
Melissa’s story.
“I was addicted to crack cocaine, living on the streets, and selling my body. I had been clean but relapsed and found myself in a bad situation with a man I could not escape. On a Saturday, I was getting high and sent a small prayer up to God…PLEASE SEND ME AN ANGEL. Two days later, the WellHouse Special Ops Outreach Team knocked on my door, as I was getting high. This group gave me a flyer and prayed for me, and I immediately knew the WellHouse is where God wanted me to be. A week later, I entered the program. God did not send me one angel; He sent an ARMY of angels to rescue me. I am now reconnecting with God and my family. I have a job, and I began classes at a local university. I do not have to worry where I am going to sleep or if I will eat. I am so grateful there is a place like this. I owe my life to the WellHouse.”
